Spring Summer 2020 : when the catwalks of the biggest labels names ended, many months ago, one thing was clear to everyone: shoe is more and more an accessory shaped by women’s personal style. Every year they turn less standardized, as they are deconstructed and recomposed with greater freedom.
There are no more cages. The sneakers can be covered with rhinestones and worn under an evening dress – on the other side, high heels can turn into real sculptures. Uppers can be covered with wide and soft fabrics. Certain parts of the shoe may be missing at all: this is the case of mules (for instance), but on the catwalks we saw other shoes too that have renounced to some apparently indispensable components. We also saw very fine sandals with almost impalpable laces.
Mule shoe is, however, the model destined to become the enter between the real must-haves of this season. It’s a new interpretation of the old sabot, but it cover a much wider space of possibilities: mule includes all possible heights and all styles, from the most informal and playful to the most chic and elegant one.
On the catwalks we have seen every kind of shoe turned into mule: from flat slippers (softened by light colors and very fine decorations) to ankle boots with high heels.
For the rest, it is really difficult to find a common line, given the variety of what the fashion shows displayed and what is starting to appear in the shop windows these days.
To give a try in finding season trends, we can say that the tips tend to slightly lengthen and become narrower than we have seen in recent years (and in particular compared to the square tips, which had returned common in 2019).
Boots, so comfortable, are reconfirmed as absolutely trendy, as already seen in the last years. Just be careful to choose them perforated, in net or in very light suede, not to risk with the hot summer weather.
At the end, we are pretty sure that this summer will be remembered for the variety of colors: gold, silver, iridescent and brilliant fabrics, leathers with bold shades.
Shyness is truly banned! Even the most classic models must always be complemented by some bold and brave detail (a material, a decoration …) that will make your shoes irresistibly trendy.
